FAQs

Is this actually easy enough for a 6 year old to fly?

Yeah, the 2-channel control (just up/down and hover) is simpler than full drones. Most kids 6-8 pick it up within a few tries. Adults might find it tricky at first too—it takes practice for everyone. Expect crashes while learning, but that's part of the fun and the lightweight design handles it.

How long does it actually fly before needing a recharge?

About 6-10 minutes of continuous flight per charge. Sounds short but it's typical for mini helicopters this size. The quick 10-30 minute USB charge time means minimal waiting between flights. Most kids do a few short flights, recharge during a snack break, then fly again.

Can you fly this outside or is it indoor only?

Indoor is best. It's lightweight so even slight wind throws it off course outside. Plus the 12-meter range is short, making it easy to lose outdoors. Living rooms, bedrooms, garages, or hallways work great. Some people fly it in calm outdoor spaces but risk losing it quickly.

What happens when it crashes? Does it break easily?

The lightweight plastic construction actually helps—crashes aren't as destructive as heavier models. Parts can fall off (counterweights, blades) but many are reattachable. Some wear and tear is expected with learning. One reviewer even mentioned rebuilding it with custom parts after pieces fell off, so it's somewhat repairable.

Does the remote need batteries or is it rechargeable too?

Remote needs 2 AA batteries which aren't included. Only the helicopter itself has a rechargeable battery that charges via USB. Keep spare AAs on hand since the remote can drain them fairly quickly with extended use.

Is the hover function automatic or do you control it?

You control the hover—it's basically finding the sweet spot on the throttle where it stays suspended in the air without climbing or falling. Takes practice to maintain but that's how beginners learn control before adding lateral movement (which this simple 2-channel version doesn't have anyway).

So, this thing has a ton of teeny tiny counter weights that fall off very easily. At first i was like oh well $25 for a crash is still worth it as it was fun to see it spin out for the price. But then i chose to take it apart. I removed the counter weights and blades and only thing left was the little rod. And it worked. So i made my own blades and after lots of trial and error it worked! So i'd say the real secret to enjoying this thing is with tearing it to shreds and building your own make shift heli. The motor works regardless of what it's powering. Re watch home alone and tell me this isn't the coolest toy in aliexpress. Amazing. I am ordering ten more for friends.

My 7yo loves this helicopter. He crashes it constantly but its still working. Takes some practice to fly it right. Battery dies quick maybe 7-8 mins but charges fast so not a big deal. Good starter toy for learning how to fly stuff. Just don't expect it to last forever with rough use.

Its ok. My son likes it but some of the small parts fall off easy when it crashes. We lost a couple pieces already. Still flies but not as stable. For the price i guess its fine. Just know youll probably need to be gentle with it or have backup parts. Remote works good though.

Decent little rc helicopter. Takes practice to control it well. My 9yo got the hang of it after a few days. Battery life is short but charges quick. Its more of a learning toy than something super durable. He enjoys flying it around the living room. Just manage expectations on how long it lasts with active kids.

My nephew loves this thing. Hes 6 and can fly it pretty well now. Crashes a lot but thats part of learning. USB charging is easy just plug it in. Flight time is maybe 8 mins or so. Good starter helicopter for young kids. Not too expensive if it breaks. Would buy again.

Pretty cool toy. My son figured out how to hover it after some practice. Remote is simple which is good for beginners. Parts are kinda fragile so crashes will eventually break stuff. But for indoor flying its fun. Battery charges fast which is nice. Just wish flight time was longer but cant complain for the price.

Got this for my sons bday and hes been flying it nonstop. Yeah it crashes and parts fall off sometimes but he just puts them back on. The motor still works fine. Easy to charge with usb. Good introduction to flying toys without spending a ton. He wants another one already lol. Fun little helicopter overall.
