Can the arm actually dig and lift stuff or is it just for show?

It legit digs. The arm has functional joints controlled through the remote—you can extend, retract, lift, and scoop. Kids use it to pick up small toys, dirt, sand, whatever. Not powerful enough to excavate rocks or heavy objects, but it handles lightweight materials just fine for realistic play.

What does 11-channel control actually mean?

Each "channel" is a separate function you can control. This excavator has 11 different movements: forward, backward, left turn, right turn, arm up/down, arm extend/retract, scoop open/close, cab rotation left/right, plus demo mode. Way more control than basic RC toys with just 4-5 channels.
